Lately, I’ve been thinking about how easily my days fill up. Ten-hour workdays, family, responsibilities, Bible studies, journal entries, and somewhere in the middle of it all, I find myself trying to make sure I “fit in” prayer and Bible reading.

 

But today a thought stopped me:

I shouldn’t be fitting God into my schedule. My schedule should be built around my time with Him. Even some of the things I do for God can become part of the busyness if I’m not careful. Writing Bible studies is not the same as simply sitting with Him. Studying Scripture to prepare something for others is not quite the same as opening His Word because my own heart needs to hear from Him.

 

I don’t need to figure out how to squeeze one more thing into an already full day. I need to begin with the One who gave me the day in the first place.

Before I give my time to everything else, I want to give Jesus my undivided attention!
