Stepping Out of Silence
Over the past few weeks, I have been working through The Journey Beyond Shame: A Five-Part Journey from Shame’s Accusation to Freedom in Christ. Shame has been a lifelong struggle for me. I have carried shame for sins I committed and for wounds and abuse inflicted upon me—shame that was never mine to bear. The enemy has used these painful parts of my story to keep me bound, hidden, and silent. But shame does not have the final word—Jesus does. Today, I am stepping out of silence and standing upon the truth of God’s Word: “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” ~John 8:36 (NKJV) “As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.”~Psalm 103:12 (NKJV). My past may be part of my story, but it no longer has the authority to define me. In Jesus Christ, I am forgiven, I am no longer condemned, and I am free.
